eBay and Customer Service

Customer Service is one of the important key to success in any business. It is also applicable for the eBay Store. If you respond quickly to your bidders and buyer's inquiries and ship your items promptly then your customers will give you a good feedback and will look forward to buy more items from you. If you decide to live with eBay then you have to run it like a business and should not consider it like an auction.

Think like you own a mortar business and ask yourself how would you treat your customer who is standing at your counter and waiting for you to complete their order. Of course, you will act like anything and complete it within minutes. You would do everything to satisfy your customers and guarantee them so that they will return to your establishment in future. Same way, you should act in your eBay business also.

The most important thing in your customer service is a timely communication with your bidder and buyer inquiries. If an auction is closed then you should immediately contact the winning bidder and thank them for participating in your auction and congratulate them for winning. Your email should describe the item they have won and how would you ship your item. You should also remind them about the payment and the options and instructions to pay. You can also invite them to participate in your other open auctions.

When the payment process is completed and you are shipping the item, you should again contact the customer again and notify them that their item has been shipped and its details such as when it was shipped, the exact date and time and the expected date of arrival at their end. You should also ask them to feel free to contact them anytime if they have any questions.

Keep in mind that you should also reply promptly to your customers if they contact you in the future. This makes them happy with their purchase. In case of the customer asks for a refund you should be open to issue it. Many sellers think that it is a loss for them. But its not a loss, they are the building blocks of a solid reputation. You must issue the refund promptly when you receive the returned item. Making your customers happy with your customer service ensures your success with your eBay Business.
